Pronouns, like any other words, only hold meaning as symbols and only make sense in context. However, the power of words to attach to thought forms is still of utmost utility. This event can yield either a dismal, or fortuitous outcome; can unfold through a deceptive, or truthful message. It’s difficult to separate pronouns from ones gender identity - even if the pronouns a person was brought up and called by *do* match up with their intuitive gender identity. I often feel that our society at this point ought to be past the idea of pronouns being decided upon based on sex alone; especially due to all the hype around pronouns right now. But then again, usually when a baby comes into this world, they grow up being called whatever pronoun the family considers as appropriate. I don’t think that the practice harmful in itself, but there are, without a doubt, a lot of implications behind the idea that self-perceived gender identity is heavily based upon linguistic syntax. At what point in the process of evolution, does adaptation kick in? I would imagine if it happened to a creature as they were living their life, it would be quite an intense feeling and may be met with tension or opposition in the beginning stages. Adaptation itself is a merging of polarities. It is a change that a being undergoes in order to solidify the disparity between what is, and what needs to be, in order for their life to continue on. Not just as an individual, but as a larger group or the entire species. When our foods and environment are filled with chemicals which we didn't consent to consuming, it's almost like chemical molestation on our bodies -- and many of us aren't even aware of it. Sexual harassment is something going into or invading our personal space that one didn't consent to. Chemicals in food and environment are basically doing this on another level, even if it isn't judged as sexual.
